ANNUAL MEETING The 19th Annual Meeting of the Members was held Tuesday November 9, 2004 at the Sylvain Learning Center on David Avenue. Each director was introduced and gave a quick summary of the committees they oversee. Rodger Axt presented a report from the Gardening Committee. Minutes from the 18th Annual Meeting of the Members (11/6/03) were approved as corrected (Jeff Kane was not present). The Board then took nominations for the two open director slots. Nancy Budd, Diana Busman, and Glen Grossman were nominated. After secret ballot, Diana Busman and Glen Grossman were elected to the Board as directors. At the conclusion of the Annual Meeting, the new Board held its first meeting. Diana Busman was elected President, Jack Rutherford was elected Vice-President, Jim Ray was elected Treasurer, and Glen Grossman was elected Secretary. The Board agreed to continue meeting monthly on the third Tuesday of each month except that meetings will start at 6:00 p.m. so more members can attend. VOLUNTEERS There is always a need for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please call us or speak to any Board member. SPEEDING PLEASE SLOW DOWN TO 15 MPH! GUEST PARKING If you live here, you can’t park in guest parking. It is that simple. If you are loading or unloading, or occasionally doing some work in your garage, then you may briefly park there. That is occasionally; not routinely! BOOK CLUB The ladies book club meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7 pm for book discussion, refreshments, and fun! See Sharon Axt in #13 for more information. CONTACT US The large mailbox at the mail station across from #100 is for incoming mail to The Glen and also for messages from you to a board member. Please sign any communication placed here. We occasionally receive a suggestion or idea and it would be nice to discuss them with the sender. You can always call the phone line and leave a message; someone will try to get back to you in 24 hours. CALL THE MAYOR If you are tired of looking at trucks and campers parked on Piedmont and Moreland Streets the streets, call the Mayor’s office (648-3100) and ask him to ban commercial trucks from parking on the streets in our neighborhood. NEXT BOARD MEETING November 16, 2004 at 6:00 at 71 Glen Lake Drive. All residents are invited to attend. |
