BOARD NEWS

The Board’s regular monthly meeting was held June 17, 2003 at Shoreline Office Building. All Board members were in attendance. Residents Wolfgang Haas (#11), Roger Axt (#13), Carmen Rousso (#38) and relative Nora Rousso, and Rick Busman (#71).

The Board adopted the budget for fiscal year 2003-2004. The budget keeps association dues at the current $245 per month per unit. Secretary Grossman reported The Glen website was up and partially running.

Odds & Ends

* A July 4th picnic is being planned. Please call 842-2441 if you would like to assist.

* Please don’t call Board members at home! Everyone who serves on a committee or on the board volunteers. Please do not disturb their personal privacy. That is why we have a telephone number, 642-2441, for The Glen.

* Please do not interfere with the gardeners doing their trimming. We are trying to maintain some semblance of uniformity of appearance.

* SLOW DOWN!!! The Glen speed limit is still 15 mph.

* On non-garbage days, garbage cans belong indoors; not on the street or on the side of your unit;

* It is not too late to sign up for The Glen Directory. Call 642-2441 and request a release and we will get one to you.

* Anyone who wants to work on The Glen website, please call 642-2441 and let us know your name and e-mail address.

* According to the CC&Rs, garage doors are supposed to be closed when not in use.

* If a vehicle is parked in a driveway, it must be parked perpendicular to Glen Lake Drive and must not extend beyond the driveway. "Guest Parking" is for guests; it is not for use by residents.

* Copies of Association documents (minutes, CPA reports, reserve studies, etc.) are generally available. Check the website first to see if you can download it. If it is not there, call Joseph and ask him for the copy.

President’s Column

by Candy Pollock

Once again, we have had several new residents moving into The Glen. As we welcome our new neighbors, it means we have said goodbye to others. Earlier this month, Bob and Blanche Stevens moved to North Carolina. Bob and Blanche lived at 25 Glen Lake Dr. since 1988. Blanche worked as a nurse at CHOMP, often caring for many of our friends and neighbors. As a nurse myself, I was proud to have her as my peer. Bob gave to the community by assisting seniors with their legal needs. Their ability to pay was not important, only that he could give assistance where needed. I consider what he did most admirable. Bob also freely gave his time by serving on the board for The Glen. He filled two different terms; once in the role as president, and most recently as secretary. We did not always agree on things, but he carefully created a tone that made us think. He truly cared about what was best for The Glen as a whole and I learned much from him. Bob and Blanche will be missed and we all wish them well in their new home.

There seems to be a lot going on in The Glen with many committees at work. If you would like to serve, there is always room for you!

I’m looking forward to our 4th of July picnic on the green again this year. It’s nice to visit with neighbors that we usually only wave to! Information should be coming soon, but put us on the calendar for that afternoon. It will also be a good opportunity to meet our new neighbors and welcome them to The Glen!

See you 'round and about!

Candy
