GARDENING
COMMITTEE May 1,2002 - Met with Susan and walked the complex. We both agreed that a meeting like this once a month was beneficial in the communication open. 1. Advised Susan to do the street blowing later in the day after trash pick up because of all the broken glass. She was under the impression that this was already being done and would make sure with her people that it was. 2. Discussed picking up dead plants and brush that seem to float done some of the hills. 3. Discussed trimming low branches of dead wood. 4. Will clean up area next to #59 where there is quite a bit of dead shrubs and tree limbs. 5. Asked to put baby tears on side of #50 only later to find out the owner does not want anything in there. Total miscommunication between owner and me so I advised Susan to leave as is. 6. We also discussed the issue regarding homeowners going directly to her. She indicated that on average it does not happen very often but if it does she will advise that they need to go through the gardening committee first. With reference to #3's planting she indicated that she had already planned on doing some replanting there prior to the owner discussing it with her. 7. Unit #100- new tenant. Susan advised that he was allowing his dog to take care of his business in the ftont of the unit on the plants and was not picking it up. I have contacted the tenant and left messages but as of this date have not personally spoke with him. 8. Unit #80- Dead tree next to ftont door. Susan said she would remove and replant per owner's suggestion. I contacted owner and she agreed to have removed and did not have a special requests for a replacement. 9. Unit # 11 0 - Susan suggested that we remove the rosemary growing over the wall next to her garage entrance and replant with some ivy. I agreed. 10. Unit #65 - Susan will plant some additional plants next to driveway. 11. Lastly, Susan strongly recommended that when it comes time to dredge the lake that she be contacted so she can be here. Evidently the last time they did it they tore up the lawn and it all had to be replaced. I contacted Andy Tope of Topes Tree Service and met with him on May 8th. We discussed the removal of some pines behind Unit # 17 along with some trimming of branches hanging over tennis courts. Also there is a dead pine behind unit # 11 and a couple next to unit #9. I also had a request from #36 to have a broken branch removed from a tree behind his unit. This is scheduled for the week of May 27th and we will have his crew for 2 days.
